Malcolm Hayes reviewed the The Great War Centenary (Challenge Classics, released 11 November 2018) in the February 2019 issue of the BBC Music Magazine: ‘Foyle’s playing is remarkable in its accuracy, tonal focus and impressive range of musical options: the violin’s opening phrase in Debussy’s Sonata sound unusually clipped at first hearing, but that’s how […]

We have just returned from Mexico, a tour that was drenched in sun, colour, warmth, laughter, generous people, wonderful food and, of course, our favourite music. The tour, so wonderfully coordinated by CMF and Anglo Arts, centred around the magnificent Cervantino Festival, the largest arts festival in Latin America which this year took place in the […]
Between 10 and 22 October 2017 we embark upon our very first Mexico tour with recitals for Cervantino Festival in Guanajuato, Mexico City, León, Metepec and Irapuato. Our programme ‘Revolutionary Spirit’ marks the Centenary of the 1917 Russian Revolution. Huge thank you to AngloArts and City Music Foundation for making this exciting adventure happen!
We are privileged to have found the following review of our Wigmore Hall recital in the December 2016 issue of The Strad Magazine, huge thank you to Tim Homfray for these kind words: ‘…The Foyle-Štšura Duo [is] a fine partnership, and clearly a dedicated one, playing everything from memory. In Lutoslawski’s Partita there was punchy […]
Our memorable performance of Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time in Omnibus Clapham with Joe Shiner and Yelian He on 2 October has been described by Robert Hugill of Planet Hugill as ‘an account full of vitality, energy and intensity’. You can read the full review here.
We would like to thank our friends and supporters for making our Wigmore Hall debut on 12 July such a special occasion. We are also grateful to the Kirckman Concert Society for giving us this invaluable opportunity. Performing our favourite works from the three centuries of duo repertoire in such an iconic venue, full with […]
Delighted about this nice review from our sold-out Brighton Festival appearance on Tuesday 24 May – ‘Schubert’s ‘Grand Duo’ was precisely that, two equal virtuosos playing wonderfully together, from memory … intensely rewarding concentration from both players and the audience. The communication between them was remarkable… It was no surprise that they received such thunderous […]
